3. The search procedure is thorough and designed to find the most suitable candidate for the open position in a three-stage process. Complete application packets that meet the required qualifications are reviewed by members of the search committee. Selected candidates will be able to demonstrate their suitability for the position to the search committee in an interview.
4. Once the interviews are completed, the committee recommends to the President of the College the names of up to three persons who they feel are acceptable for the position.

Search process

The search procedure to fill full-time faculty and administrative positions is thorough and designed to support the Diversity and Inclusion Plan. A three-stage process is used. In Stage I candidates are reviewed by Human Resources and in Stage II qualified candidates are reviewed by members of the search committee, through which a screening takes place to determine who will move on to Stage III based on the advertised qualifications of the position. As each stage is completed, applicants who do not meet the necessary qualifications will be notified. Stage III is the interview stage, where the candidates are invited to campus to meet with the committee. (As a general policy, SUNY Niagara does not reimburse candidates for travel expenses.) It should be noted that the position vacancy announcement will identify what materials are required of each candidate.

It is important to ensure that materials are submitted in accordance with the vacancy announcement. Once the interviews are completed, the committee recommends whenever possible to the president of the College the names of a minimum of two, a maximum of three, persons who they feel are acceptable for the position.
