Outside Scholarships

Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo Scholarship - Due May 1

Award: Up to $6,000
Eligibility: The candidate must be a permanent resident in one of the eight counties of WNY (Allegany, Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, Erie, Genesee, Niagara, Orleans, and Wyoming). They must have at least a 2.0 GPA and be accepted to any accredited non-profit college or university in the United States for full-time study at the undergraduate level. Limited funding is available on the graduate level.

Niagara-Orleans Counselors Association (NOCA) Scholarship

Check with your High School Guidance Counseling Office to determine if your school is an eligible participating member school of the Niagara-Orleans Counselors.

Award:Ìý$500Ìýscholarship for the Fall and Spring semesters.
Eligibility: The candidate must be a Niagara County high school senior graduating in June at a participating member school of the Niagara-Orleans Counselors and plan on enrolling full-time during the Fall semester at SUNY Niagara. They must also maintain a minimum 2.75 GPA for the second-semester payment.

NYS Organization of Bursars and Business Administrators Scholarship

Award: $1,000
Eligibility: The candidate must be registered for at least half time at a member school and have completed at least 15 credit hours of college coursework, in good academic standing, and enrolled in a degree-granting program.

Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society Scholarships

Phi Theta Kappa members have access to more than 37 million in scholarships. Applicants may apply for one scholarship on the common application or multiple scholarships at the same time.Ìý

Volunteer Firefighter Tuition Reimbursement Program (FASNY HELP)

(HELP) Higher Education Learning Plan

New York’s volunteer fire departments are currently experiencing a critical need to recruit and retain members. As an incentive for people to serve, FASNY has developed the Higher Education Learning Plan (FASNY HELP). This program provides tuition reimbursement to individuals attending community college for up to eighty (80) credit hours.

Under FASNY HELP, student-volunteers are eligible to have up to 100% of their tuition reimbursed in exchange for maintaining their grades and fulfilling defined service requirements. They must also be a “member in good standing” in one of New York’s volunteer fire companies during both their school years and service payback period.

Download theÌý to learn more about applying today!ÌýStart by completing the application on page 15 and have page 16 signed and notarized. Once completed submit everything directly to the contact address located on-page.

Worksource One Training Funding

Niagara County Employment and Training is currently accepting applications for tuition assistance. Multiple grants are available. Up to $4,000 per eligible student. Several factors may affect approval including funding availability.
